Hawaiian Falls and Camping for the 4th

We were able to spend the Fourth of July (AKA Gigi's birthday) with family in the Austin area.  We spend the whole day on the 4th at Hawaiian Falls Waterpark in Pflugerville and had a blast!  We were spoiled with our own cabana and even stayed late into the evening to watch the fireworks from the waterpark.

Then we had our first tent camping experience!  When we sat down as a family and made summer plans the two things Nate wanted to do were go fishing and go tent camping.  He was pretty excited!

Unfortunately due to ear pain, he did not sleep much in the tent and ended up sleeping sitting up in the car with Mommy.  The next morning at urgent care the doctor said he had a "rip roaring" external ear infection (swimmers ear).  I guess 14 hours at the water park and a summer of swimming nearly every day will do that to ya!  The doc gave some good preventative tips and prescription medication that should take care of things.  Poor guy. He was in a lot of pain, but it really did not slow him down too much.

We enjoyed picnics and hiking later that day at McKinney Falls (boy was it HOT).

Then to top it off, we saw our second double rainbow (we saw one at the water park the day before) as we drove home.
