Church Cookout

Not to be outdone by the neighborhood church, our own church hosted a cookout today; complete with delicious food, bounce houses, and face painting.

Marissa loved her Elmo!

Nate and Austin thought they were pretty awesome Spider-friends.
Now if only we can channel their superpowers for good instead of evil!

My happy kiddos after an eventful weekend!

Costume Extravaganza

Cuter than any pumpkin the the patch....

...and happier too!

Darth Vader and his favorite Storm Trooper!

No theme here...

We got dressed up and went to a party at the Davis' new house!
Liz went all out for the kiddos: a jump house, exciting prizes, an indestructible pinata..

...but what Nate loved the most were the glow in the dark water balloons in her pool!
Everytime he got one and was able to throw it back in the pool he did a little Storm Trooper victory dance...

He is hilarious.
It was really nice to catch up with some old friends at this party.

The next day the kids threw their costumes back on and we headed to a festival at a church in our neighborhood.
One of Nate's favorite sayings right now is "What the Heskimo?"  I have no idea where he picked it up (but it does make me giggle a little every time he says it)....this is totally his "What the Heskimo?" face (with a side of ketchup)!

The kids loved the bounce houses!

Pumpkin Time!

Daddy carved a pumpkin with the kids....

...which inspired further decoration.

Since Mommy wouldn't let them have their own knives, they settled for markers.

They seemed to thoroughly enjoy it anyway!

Nate in the Pumpkin Patch

On Tuesday, Mommy joined Nate and his crazy class at the pumpkin patch!  The kids had a ton-o-fun picking out the perfect pumpkin....and just being silly together!

Nate also has a current obsession with acorns, so imagine his delight to have a tree limb low enough he could pick them himself!

I love this silly kid...

and his silly friends!

Let's Go Surfing Now, Everybody's Learning How...

I know I don't say it often enough but it is so nice to live in South Texas, where it is still warm in October!  My incredibly awesome department decided we should have a beach party day this weekend.  So we loaded up the kids and hit the beach!

Despite all Jenna's hard work with the kids, they did not pick up her passion for surfing!

Nate did eventually warm up to kayaking (with Mommy and Daddy) and Daddy hit the waves.  Mommy even had a successful run but no pictures were taken :(

It was so much fun!

I am thankful that my team is awesome at work and at play!
