Dr. Visit

Look at how much I have grown over the past 4 months!

At one week I was the size of the whale, and now the whale is putty in my hands.

Today Mom took me to the doctor for my 4 month check up and because I have been feeling pretty cruddy all week. The good news is that I am growing right on target and am hitting all my major milestones.....the bad news is that I have my first ear infection. I did a little flirting with the doctor and she hooked me up with some good drugs that will hopefully allow me, Mommy, and Daddy to sleep all night again!

My current stats are: 13.7 pounds and 23 1/4 inches long. This puts me in the 25% for weight and 10% for height.....my head however is in the 50%. Because I was not feeling well, the doc said I did not have to get my shots today. I will have to go back for those in a few weeks. We will keep you posted.

2008 Olympics

Many of you may not realize that mom is an Olympics junkie!!! Typically as soon as Nate is fed and off to bed, so am I. Ted jokes that I have been asleep before my head hits the pillow.....however, that has all changed since the Olympics began this year. I stay up way too late to watch whatever event happens to be on and I record what I miss so I can watch it during my early morning feedings. There is just something admirable about the usual sportsmanship and the way the world watches with baited breath in hopes that their country brings home another victory.

GO USA!

Luckily/sadly tonight is the last night of the Olympics. I will have to actually start cleaning house, sleeping regularly, and cooking real food again. Oh, how I will miss the Olympics.

One of the major controversies this year has been the age of the Chinese gymnasts....and that got me thinking....they should hold a BABY OLYMPICS.

Imagine with me, if you will......Nathaniel Oliver Yancy competes in the following events:

1) The Ring Grasp

2) Synchronized Toe Grasp & Swing

3) The 10 Meter Diaper Dash

4)The Pacifier Shot put

5) The All-Night Marathon

6) Spit Up Contest (although closely rivaled by his own cousin Craig)

7) The international laugh-a-thon

8) The Tub Triathalon

With these events, I really think he could rival Michael Phelp's historic run for the gold.

Granted the judge (being myself) probably has a slightly slanted bias and gives credit for cuteness more than natural athleticism....

Here's looking forward to London!

Chuy's

My first trip to Chuy's (mom's favorite restuarant) was to wish Liz Elliott (on right) farewell before she moves out to California. Liz recently graduated and is going out west to further her education....so good luck Lizzie! Tony and Linda (on left) joined us as well, it was great fun to visit with friends and eat some delicious Hatch green chili!

Toes!

I have discovered my toes....and I love them.

Ode to my toes....

Toes, toes so small and sweet.

Ten little piggies attached to my feet.

Endless entertainment, just to touch.

Thank God for my toes, I love them so much!

Nathaniel has officially discovered his feet and has not let them go since. He holds on to them as though someone might take them away if he accidently lets go. Who needs toys, when you have toes?

First Flight, Family. & Fun

August 1, 2008 I took my first flight to head to a family reunion in Waterloo, Indiana.

I turned out to be a great traveler, making my parents sooooo proud.

Four Generations

This was the first time my Great-Grandparents on my mom's side of the family had the chance to meet me.
They think I am pretty sweet (and I thought the same about them).
Here I am with my Great Uncle Kent &Aunt Debbie, cousins Austin (check out our sweet mohawks) and Benten

My gorgeous Aunt Leslie, Uncle Robert and beautiful cousin Isabella (where was Logan???)

My Crazy Cousin Craig is always the clown. Here he is cracking another bad joke and sucking his Daddy's nose.

My daddy took me on my first carousel ride - it was so fun I wet my pants.

Overall it was a great visit. We were able to visit with family we rarely get the chance to see. We enjoyed the cool weather and Grandpa B's homemade ice cream!

Superbaby

Faster than a speeding diaper change, more powerful than an entire night's sleep, and able to spit up over buildings in a singlebound.....

Who is he?

It is Superbaby, of course!

He left planet Krypton and ventured over to his cousin Emma's 6th birthday party....where he met up with his SuperCousins!

Thanks to Grandma Helen and Grandpa Doug for transporting and watching over him and to Aunt Olivia for her creativity, it was a Super-fun day for Superbaby!
