Happy Halloween!

Align CenterTrick or Treat,

Smell my Feet,

Give me something

Good to eat....

Oh wait, at this phase of life,

my feet are good to eat!

The shirt says it all....SO CUTE, IT'S SCARY (Thanks Kristi)!

Last week we went to a pumpkin patch until our little monkey crashed!

Nathaniel's first Halloween was eventful. We spend the majority of the day traveling back from Nacogdoches were Mommy presented at a Neurological conference. Then we dressed up as a Big Daddy's All-Star football player, until Nathaniel spit up all over the outfit (such is life).

We changed back into the monkey outfit to make rounds but we only had one stop over at Nathaniel's Great Uncle Mose and Aunt Peggy's (who we are referring to as Gram-Aunt). Apparently he is actually teething this time so he was not in much of a mood to be out and about. But overall it was a fun day!

I

Fun with the Yancy Cousins

We got to spend the day with my Yancy Cousins today. I went with Mommy and the girls to Gatti-Land while the other guys were off to the Texans game.... the guys had to return unexpectedly and watched the game on TV instead - which just meant more fun for me. I got to hang out with all 4 of them. I love spending time with my cousins.

As you can see, Isabella is pretty taken with me. She did not belly flop on me at all today (which I found nice)! She has also proven herself to be quite the expert bubble-blower.

Elizabeth was a great big sister and cousin and really looked out for us at Gatti-Land. She uses the theory, speak softly and carry a big stick :)

John Diego continues to be a sports nut and Christopher was soooo funny.

JB's Wedding

Classy, elegant, and a thousand other adjectives I typically would not use to describe JB :) The wedding was a beautiful outdoor ceremony with close friends and family....and what a blast it was for me to see my closest friends from college!

Same cheesy jokes, same goofy sayings, lots of crazy memories....only this time we were all
chasing kids -

Woah, a future generation of Spartans coming right up!

At one moment during the reception I looked at what used to be the 7 of us and was amazed, with kids and spouses we can certainly fill a room.

I also looked around and noted that not too long ago we were the life of every party we went to (some of which we were not even formally invited to attend) and at the wedding we suddenly turned into fuddy-duddies. We have become the old people, sitting at tables, holding their kids, refusing to join the conga line. We once lived for dances (and free food).

But you know, I would not trade this for the world. God blessed me with the best friends a girl could ask for and now an amazing husband and an incredibly handsome son (If I do say so myself).

It is so cool to see how the "Spartans" have grown, and continue to grow. And it is a blessing and an honor to have such great friends. Admittedly, we still are a bit immature, but we know how to have a good time! I cannot wait to see you guys again - and meet the next 2 arrivals to the clan (Babies Peet and Sellers).

We are in! We are very excited about this daycare. They use Christian-based curriculum and will teach Nathaniel some sign language. We start Monday. :)

Daycare Decisions Part 2

Sadly, Ike destroyed our beloved daycare. So we are on the hunt again. Last week work told Sybil that she would be working a few hours a day; however this morning they said they want everyone there 8-5 starting tomorrow. TOMORROW? You have to be kidding me. I have not even had a chance to secure a spot for Nathaniel at a new daycare yet. We scoped out daycares last Friday and found one we really like at a church close to home....so cross your fingers, say your prayers, etc. so that we can get in. They have one available spot but may have a waiting list, we were not able to sign up yet b/c the director was out with a family emergency. This hunting for daycares really is a full time job....wish us luck.

In the meantime, Nicci has been extremely gracious and agreed to throw another kid into the mix and watch Nathaniel along with her own twin girls. Although one may wonder about her mental stability, rest assured we know he is in great hands. What a blessing she continues to be to us!
