Singing Debut

The kids had their end of summer performance at daycare.  Marissa, whom everyone says is always happy, proved to be anything but happy during her class' performance of "If You Are Happy and You Know It".  Despite her usual clamoring to be center of attention, she did not appreciate all eyes on her and was very relieved when she was allowed off the stage!

Nate did a fantastic job.  It is so great hearing him go around singing worship songs non-stop.  Instead of making you watch his performance (but I do have them if you just want to see them) I will include a short clip of what I considered the highlight!
We love his cute friend Landes!

Success

TaaDaaa.....Potty Training Success!

We'd like to thank
"Baby" for all the hard work she put in to help Marissa achieve this great milestone...

She was a huge help!

It really is funny how "mothering" little girls can be at such an early age.  I love this sweet girl.

Potty Training In Process....I'm POOPED!

I always heard potty training girls was much easier than potty training boys...and in our case that is SO true.

Day 1 was pretty crazy, I was up to my ears in pee between cleaning up after the girl and the dog.
Day 2 was about 50%
Day 3 she only had 3 accidents total (2 pee, 1 poo)
Day 4 she went to GramAunts and did pretty well
Day 5 we took her to Palm Beach in the morning and had NO accidents all day
Day 6 we got back to our normal lives, she did well in the nursery at church and even stayed dry through nap time!  She did have one (poop) accident that evening.
Day 7 she went back to daycare and even pooped in the potty.  No accidents at all.
Day 8 she had one poop accident....

So I am not sure what the pooping deal is.  I still have not seen her poop in the potty.  Isn't it easier to know when that is coming?

All I can say is halle-stinking-lujah!!!!  We are one step closer to NO diapers!  Just gotta get this pooping thing under control.

Even many of the daycare workers are amazed at how well she is doing.

And this IS the most exciting thing in my life right now - she will be horrified that I have written this blog someday!

It's Tee Time....

...Tee-Tee time that is.

Yes, I am crazily tackling potty training a puppy and a kiddo at the same time.  I am at my wits end with the dog...and will soon be that way with the girl.

Minnie Mouse panties are bought.  Bubba is supportive.  Potty Power DVD is ready to play.  Timer is set for 15 minute increments.  Tomorrow kicks off day 1.  Pray for all of our sanity!

I Scream , You Scream...

...We all scream for BLUE BELL ice cream!

On Thursday, we joined up with some of Nate's friends and headed to arguably on of the sweetest places on Earth....the Blue Bell Ice Cream factory!  We got a tour of the factory and learned that the blue bell is a flower that grows in Texas, hence the name.  We also learned that it takes around 60,000 cows to produce one day's worth of this deliciousness!
The Blue Bell motto is "We eat what we can and sell the rest".  At the end of the tour (no pics allowed on the tour) we tested this in their old fashioned ice cream parlor. It was a hard decision to make....
The other Mom's and I decided we definitely gained cool points that day, allowing our kids to eat ice cream at 9:30 in the morning.  We are trying to figure out how we can remind them of this when they are teenagers and remind us how "uncool" we are!

It was a sweet day, with sweet friends! If it is even possible, I may just love Blue Bell even more than I already did!

YUMMY in my tummy!

Introducing ZIGGY!!!

Meet Ziggy....the newest addition to the household!

His first bath....because he pooped all over Daddy on the drive home!
Nate sure loves him...
(Nate named him, it was a toss up between Ziggy and Karate!)

 and so does 'Rissa!

He's a snuggly, sweet little guy.  If we can manage to get him housebroken, I am sure he will bring lots of joy to our home!
