Happy Bird-th-day, Nathaniel!

And it is PARTY TIME!!!!
As our guests arrived they were ushered outside to play

Immediately the big sling shot was a hit!

We had activities for the kids to do....which were good in theory
The first was to make bird feeders.  A simple activity with pine cones, peanut butter and bird seed.

It was great until the kids started eating the birdseed!

Certainly an activity that required parental supervision.
Hopefully now angry birds will not attack their homes!

Another activity was to paint birdhouses so that the birds could have a nice place to stay!  The kids took this pretty seriously...

...of course, things started getting a little messy.  Paint ended up on kids and/or their clothes.  Sorry parents...again, it was good in theory.

But we did end up with some great smiles and beautiful masterpieces!

Then we just let them go wild with sling shots (big and small), building and knocking over towers, playing on the playground, jumping in the little bounce house, etc.  Luckily there were not too many tears shed and the kids seemed to have a great time.

Then we went on to eat our Angry Bird Pizza (and some not so angry bird pizza, because Mommy only made 2 special ones!).

Then came the moment he had been waiting for...presents!

Just to add to more fun for the parents we then loaded the kids up on sugar.
DELICIOUS cake balls that our neighbor, Cathy, made and some good old Blue Bell ice cream hit the spot.

Then we said good-bye to our special friends who were kind enough to celebrate this day with us.

After the kids' party and a quick clean up, we had the family party.  More sugar, more food, and more fun!

I know he had a great time.  Even as I sit back and reflect on the day, I know we are overwhelmingly blessed to have such great friends and family!

So from the Yancy Clan and all of the Angry Birds....thanks for making this such a special day!

PS No live animals were harmed in the making of this party.
