Ear Infection Chronicles

If a biography were out right now on the life of Nathaniel Oliver Yancy, it would be entitled The Ear Infection Chronicles. And it would have a frowny-face picture of his mom on the front page!

I think this poor child has been battling ear infections non-stop for the past 3 months. His current one was discovered at his 6 month check up on the 4th. I went back for the follow up appt last Tuesday after some horrible side effects of the antibiotics the doctor put him on...and she reported it was still a bit red but looked a lot better so she did not want to put him on any more antibiotics. I insisted that he was not feeling well and should not be waking up in the middle of the night screaming. But what do I know? There is no MD after my name.

Yesterday he stayed with his Great Aunt Peggy and was not himself. He slept alot and smiled very little. By that evening he began running high fever....so we spent a fun Friday evening at the After Hours Clinic. Which was exactly what I hoped to be doing on Friday evening.

Our little man got a shot, screamed a lot and has to go back this evening for a follow up shot. It breaks my heart to hear him scream in pain. So pray this will stop the ear infection trend we seem to have going on. The highlight of the evening was when the doctor left the room and absent-mindedly left the otoscope on the table beside Nathaniel- we had a little fun with it before he began drooling on it and mom had to take it away :)
