1st Birthday Weekend

It is official, I am ONE!

(I don't really know what that means, but people sure are making a big deal about it around here)

The first glimpse, first cry, first smile, first sleepless night, first full night's sleep, first laugh, first tooth, first ear infection, first surgery, first step....it has all gone by so fast. People warn you to enjoy every moment, and to the best of our ability we have BUT it still goes by sooooo fast. Nathaniel turned one on Friday. As usual he spent Friday with his "GramAunt" Peggy and enjoyed swinging in the new swing they bought him. Then Big Daddy, Gigi, Aunt Barbara, Uncle Anson and crazy cousin Craig came down for the weekend. It is amazing to see the boys interact with each other more now, and by interact I mean, steal toys from one another until the other one cries. Saturday was Nathaniel's birthday party. It was awesome to be surrounded by family and friends who have advised us, encouraged us and rejoiced with us over the past year.

Nate properly escorted his Granny and Great-Grandpa into the festivities.

Yancy and Alexander Cousins (minus Isabella) and the Obert twins.

The McDonalds came down for the party! Here are Sheila and Adalyn and Casen.

We had a bug theme since we call him Nater-Bug most of the time. We even had caterpillar sandwiches, a caterpillar cake and bug juice!

Bugs were thrown all around and after the present opening, we gave all the kids bug kits and let them go bug hunting. It was a lot of fun.

Nate's Cousin Christopher and friend Trevor were quick to find bugs.

Elizabeth and Brianna captured some pretty cute bugs as well.

See if you can find the pink bug on Emma (Nate's cousin) and Izzy Obert (Nate's friend).

Nicci cheers Trevor on in his findings and it looks like a butterfly found Alyson Coleman (Nate's friends from church)

Nathaniel had a pretty good time in general during his party.

The Zgaljardic girls and his cousin Elizabeth got in on the action as well.

Then Sunday we went to church and then took Craig to get his first haircut. We were hoping he would love it like Nathaniel did, but he was tired and was not so fond of losing what little hair he has.

It was a fantastic weekend. Monday rolled around way too quickly. I sure wish we could convince my family to move closer. We eagerly await the arrival of our next cousin, who we found out is another BOY!!!
