Mother's Day Weekend

Look at that face....my life is good!

Nothing prepared me for the joy that Mothers experience on a daily basis. Of all the roles I have had in life, Mommy is by far the most treasured. It really is an honor and privilege to watch him grow. I am amazed every day at how Nathaniel changes, and feel so blessed to be his Mom. I love looking at life through his eyes. He has always been a studious one. He loves to inspect every detail of his toys, flipping them over several times before he is satisfied with the quality. His current favorite toys include: his mega legos, blocks, animal puzzle that makes sounds when you remove the pieces, rolling balls down his jungle toddler gym and he still loves his books. Just recently he has begun giving his stuffed animals "lovies". It melts my heart to watch him hug them. This precious kid is constantly full of joy.

In fact, this weekend he was ill and threw up several times. During one episode he had urped while we were driving, we looked back and he had a huge tear on his cheek but was not crying, then began laughing and "finger painting" with his mess. Although quite disgusting, he does seem to find the best in every situation. Amazing.

And speaking of car seats, we officially moved him to the forward facing position and he loves it. He is really into peeking around corners to see us so he found it hilarious to be able to get our attention when we would peek at him by turning our heads.

It was a fun and busy weekend for us. Friday night Mommy's work had their annual craw fish boil. Gram Aunt Peggy kept Nathaniel for extended hours so Mom did not have to worry about him stepping into the Gulf. He is getting to be pretty fast these days! It was nice to just be able to hang out and have a good time. We (my co-workers and myself) are so ready to get back to our place in Galveston....but that still appears to be quite a ways off.

Saturday Nathaniel and I were able to get some shopping in (Daddy has a big birthday coming up) then stay home and clean, which was great until his little stomach bug made Mommy clean everything multiple times. They really should make car seats easier to clean!

Today Daddy spoiled Mommy with Bronco Burritos for breakfast, we went to church, came home and had Granny, Gram Aunt Peggy, and Uncle Mose over for lunch. Friends, family, and fun....you really cannot beat that! My second Mother's Day was great. Much love to all you Mommys, especially my own....who really is the best Mom in the world!!!!
